In order to have a healthy lifestyle, it is very important to know how to establish and maintain a healthy weight. When it comes to staying fit, the answer is very simple and direct. One’s body must create a calorie deficit. Meaning, the body must burn more calories than consumed. Still, which such as a simple method many people find themselves struggling to achieve a balance weight. Many can’t seem to decide whether exercise routines or following rigid diet plans would be more effective for one’s health. Is lifting more weights at the gym and training cardio more[CP1] promising than diet? Or is ignoring those sugary donuts and relying on rich nutrition more favorable? Throughout several research, the rewards of exercise by far outweighs diet and has proved to be the most effective and superior strategy when trying to establish a healthy weight.
To attain that lean and balance weight one dreams of, is important to understand how exercise helps to burns off fat by building muscle and speeding up metabolism. When exercising resistance workout-outs, such as body weight training or lifting dumbbells, the body increases muscle mass, this plays a huge role in burning fat. Adding just a couple of lean muscle can help to loose roughly one hundred extra calories burned per day, even at rest. At first, shredding off those extra pounds through exercise may seem like a huge victory, but the real hard work begins when trying to maintain that weight for the future. A small increase in physical activity should be enough to stay balance. Too keep gaining muscle and lose fat, you must increase the intensity of your weight training and cardio workout. By keeping things at high intensity level the whole body will utilize more fat, resulting in a lean and healthier body (Patania). It’s important to keep in mind that increasing exercise does not mean for a person to kill himself at the gym or go running marathons. It simply means to add ten or fifteen minutes to their workout. An increase from light to moderate exercise of twenty to thirty minutes is a great method that leads to success for the long term (Frey)
No one can deny the benefits that exercise provides to one’s health. However, one can argue that diet may be a better way to stay healthy due to the better nutrition that it offers. As the article “Vegetarian Diet provides good nutrition states[CP3] ”, “Studies have found that those who adopt a balance diet receive better level of protein, iron, and zinc, and those patients are less likely to suffer from heart disease, diabetes, or obesity”. Although diet does offer rich nutrition, it is still not a reliable method for establishing a balance weight. The lack of efficiency of diet makes it a poor choice for one’s health.[CP4] Many researches have estimated that more than eighty percent who have lost weight by dieting end up regaining it all, or more, only after a couple of weeks (Voss). To make diet look even worse, all the regained fat can have a huge risk on person’s body. Constantly regaining fat burdens the arteries and stresses the liver, which can potentially lead to liver failure (Voss). Despite a better nutrition, dieting is simply an inferior method due to fact the most of the results are only temporarily and very ineffective.
